Job Description:
Senior Organizational Change Manager (OCM)
Job Summary: The Senior Organizational Change Manager will be responsible for ensuring that projects (change initiatives) meet objectives by increasing adoption and usage of new/improved technology tools, business processes, and organizational structures.
This role focuses on the people side of change with a primary emphasis on creating and implementing change management strategies and plans.
The Senior Organizational Change Manager works closely with departmental and campus leadership, governance structures, system-wide stakeholders, and organizations to understand the environment and needs associated with change plans and impending work updates.
This role will actively plan and implement plans for formalized change management initiatives, as well as informal relationship building with peers across the university throughout the lifecycle of one or more projects within the Advancement Department and partner organizations.
The Senior Organizational Change Manager is seen as an expert and can provide training/guidance/coaching to less experienced change managers, is able to develop tools and methodologies based on deep experience and knowledge of the organizational landscape, and is viewed as a respected and trusted advisor by the organization's leadership.
Works on change initiatives of the greatest complexity and potential risk to the organization.
Duties and Responsibilities
Duties and responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to:
•Create and apply a structured methodology and lead change management activities, including, but not limited to the following activities:
•Assess impacts of proposed changes
•Complete change management assessments
•Create change management strategies
Consult and coach project teams on planned changes, and how to manage those changes
Create actionable deliverables for communications, training, sponsorship, and resistance/stakeholder management
Engage and support senior leaders in their role as sponsors of change by increasing leadership buy-in through information findings and change management knowledge
Coach managers and supervisors on how to manage change and act as sponsors of change
Integrate change management activities and tasks into project plans
Evaluate and ensure the impacted community is ready for change
Define and measure success metrics for report to the changing organization, as well as into IT Governance for review and lessons learned
Track and report issues through the course of a change
Secondary Responsibilities:
Support a change management Community of Practice in order to grow understanding and consistency in the change management capability at CU Coach and consult with campus Organizational Change Managers, Project Managers, and others as needed
•Provide input on refinement to OCM process, tools, and templates used to deliver IT Governance projects
Minimum Reqs
• Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution of higher education in business, management information systems, or similar field, or equivalent professional experience (the educational requirement may be substituted by professional experience on a year for year basis).
•Eight (8) years of experience in an organizational change management role
•Experience training/coaching organizations on change management tools, methodologies, and best practices
Project management experience – exposure and practical working experience on projects using the Project Management Institute’s Project Management Body of Knowledge (PMBOK)

Consulting experience on large-scale systems implementations
Formal certification in industry-standard change management methodologies such as Prosci, Kotter, etc.
Formal "train the trainer" certification in industry-standard change management methodologies
