Job Title: Project Coordinator – Systems Integration
Location: Hybrid (50% Remote, 50% Onsite – Columbia, SC)
Work Hours:
- Standard: Monday - Friday, 8 AM to 5 PM EST
- Flexible start between 7 AM and 9 AM, ending between 4 PM and 6 PM.
- Occasional after-hours or weekend support as needed (coordinated in advance).
Position Overview
We are seeking a Project Coordinator to join the Systems Integration team, focusing on Public Health integration and modernization projects for critical systems, including Lab and Disease Surveillance. The ideal candidate will bring strong organizational skills, technical expertise, and project coordination experience in IT environments. This role requires working closely with Information Technology staff, system owners, subject matter experts, and external partners to manage project activities and resources.
Key Responsibilities
- Project Support:
- Assist with managing project activities, coordinating resources, and ensuring alignment with project objectives.
- Learn system capabilities and document current and future states with stakeholders.
- Conduct gap analyses to ensure alignment with business and technical requirements.
- Schedule, facilitate, and document stakeholder meetings (e.g., agendas, minutes).
- Documentation and Reporting:
- Prepare and manage project documents, including diagrams, charts, and reports.
- Update and maintain SharePoint sites for system collaboration.
- Compile project status reports and grant updates using SQL, Excel, and Power BI.
- Technical Coordination:
- Create system, architecture, and data flow diagrams using Microsoft Visio.
- Support system validation to ensure technical requirements are met.
- Assist with production rollouts to minimize disruptions.
- Document defects and issues, providing steps for recreation and resolution.
- Team Collaboration:
- Facilitate communication between teams and stakeholders throughout the project lifecycle.
- Support risk management strategies and assist with project milestones.
- Provide general assistance to the Systems Integration Manager and team members.
Required Skills
- Ability to analyze and document business and system processes using various tools.
- Knowledge of IT best practices, development lifecycles (SDLC), and implementation methodologies.
- Expertise in designing, implementing, and supporting enterprise-grade technical solutions.
- Advanced proficiency in MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Visio), MS SharePoint.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Experience with task management and tracking systems (e.g., JIRA, Remedy, or Azure DevOps).
- Ability to work collaboratively with technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Exceptional analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Technical writing expertise for project documentation.
Preferred Skills
- Experience in team/project management.
- Knowledge of data classification standards (CDC, HIPAA, CJIS, PHI, PII).
- Familiarity with Public Health or Disease Surveillance systems (e.g., LIMS).
- Proficiency in HL7 standards (v2.3.1 to v2.5.1).
- Advanced T-SQL skills (stored procedures, queries, optimization).
- Experience with XML, XSD, XSLT, LOINC, SNOMED.
- Familiarity with tools like MS Project, JIRA, Azure DevOps.
Required Education
- Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in a relevant field or equivalent work experience.
