Job Summary:
We are seeking a detail-oriented and organized Material Specialist to join our team. The Material Specialist will be responsible for managing the supply chain, coordinating shipping and receiving activities, and ensuring efficient warehouse management. The ideal candidate will have experience in forklift operation, data mining, and supplier management.
Duties:
- Manage the supply chain process, including procurement, inventory control, and supplier management
- Coordinate shipping and receiving activities, ensuring accurate documentation and timely delivery
- Utilize warehouse management systems (WMS) to track inventory levels and optimize storage space
- Operate forklifts and other material handling equipment to move materials within the warehouse
- Perform data mining and analysis to identify trends, optimize inventory levels, and improve operational efficiency
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop and implement process improvements
- Ensure compliance with safety regulations and maintain a clean and organized work environment
Qualifications:
- Previous experience in supply chain management or related field
- Proficiency in SQL or other data analysis tools for data mining purposes
- Strong knowledge of warehouse management systems (WMS) and inventory control principles
- Experience operating forklifts or other material handling equipment
- Familiarity with AS400 or similar enterprise resource planning (ERP) systems
- Excellent problem-solving skills with the ability to analyze complex data sets
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate effectively with internal teams and external suppliers
- Ability to visualize data using charts, graphs, or other data visualization techniques
