Position: HR Generalist - LOCAL Applicants to Los Angeles and surrounding areas are preferred, CA labor law knowledge required

Reports To: HR Director

Department: Human Resources


Key Responsibilities and Duties:

As an HR Generalist at 211 LA, you will be vital in supporting a wide range of human resources functions and initiatives. You will ensure compliance with employment regulations while upholding our commitment to innovation, inclusivity, and professional growth. As a key team member, you will manage essential HR data, support impactful programs, and help foster a positive and collaborative work environment.

Employee Support & Relations

  • Serves as a primary point of contact for employee questions regarding policies, benefits, and workplace best practices.
  • Assists with employee relations matters by providing policy guidance and escalating issues when necessary.
  • Supports employee engagement initiatives to foster a positive and inclusive work environment.

HR Administration & Compliance

  • Maintains and updates employee records, ensuring accuracy and compliance with company policies and legal requirements.
  • Assists in preparing and submitting compliance reports, including EEOC reporting and other regulatory filings.
  • Processes and tracks workers' compensation claims, ensuring timely reporting and follow-up.
  • Helps coordinate new hire onboarding, ensuring all required documentation is completed.
  • Organizes and maintains HR documents, personnel files, and digital records.

HR Operations & Support

  • Assists in implementing and maintaining personnel policies and procedures.
  • Tracks key HR metrics, prepares reports and ensures data integrity within HR systems.
  • Provides general administrative support to the HR department, including drafting correspondence and handling confidential information.

Qualifications:

  • A bachelors degree or equivalent experience is required; HR certification is a plus.
  • 1-3 years of HR, administrative, or related experience; union environment experience is a plus but not required.
  • Familiarity with HR policies, compliance regulations, and workplace best practices.
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to engage employees at all levels.
  • Experience with HR systems (HRIS) or other business software is a plus.
  • Detail-oriented with the ability to maintain confidentiality and manage multiple priorities.

Compensation: $70,000 annually
