Fellow, Government Affairs
The Information Technology Industry Council (ITI) is the premier advocacy and policy organization for the world's leading innovation companies. ITI is seeking a Fellow to join its Government Affairs team. This opportunity is located at ITI’s headquarters in Washington, DC. ITI is committed to attracting creative, talented, and energetic team members who represent the diverse communities that they advocate for.
Your responsibilities:
  • Monitor and analyze legislative, regulatory, and policy proposals at the United States federal level.
  • Maintain tracking sheets for policy developments, industry contacts, and other data as necessary.
  • Assist in drafting policy summaries, strategic recommendations, fact sheets, position papers, letters, comments, and other written materials for policymakers.
  • Assist in the drafting of written policy and advocacy products for ITI members.
  • Produce summaries of Congressional hearings or Executive Branch events and other external events on a wide range of technology issues.
  • Attend and provide event support for advocacy events such as roundtables with Members of Congress, Congressional staff, and Administration officials.
  • Compile data and other information for research projects.
  • Other duties as assigned.
Your qualifications:
  • Current students of law degree program (e.g. JD, LLM, JSD) or students of a Master’s degree program focused on political science, public policy, international affairs/relations, economics, technology policy (e.g., cybersecurity), relevant STEM (e.g., engineering, computer science), business, communications, marketing, or a related field.
  • Demonstrated interest and knowledge of technology policy issues (e.g., artificial intelligence, consumer protection, content moderation, science research & development policy, federal procurement, cyber security, international trade, tax policy, supply chain issues, U.S.-China competition-related issues, data/privacy, or competition/anti-trust)
  • Open-source research, analytical, writing, editing, and verbal communication skills.
  • Familiarity with Microsoft Office 365 required.
