ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
- Manage and maintain department budget, spending process and secure adequate funding.
- Provide leadership, management and supervision for the Informational Technology (IT) department staff and related services, including analyzing staffing recommendations, as well as determining tasks, rights, and responsibilities among IT staff.
- Establish support priorities and procedures.
- Maintain an organizational structure which can effectively respond to the District’s information/data and research and evaluation requirements.
- Pro-actively identify and meet the technology needs of the school district.
- Manage the planning, development and delivery of computer training and support services for teachers, classified staff, administrators and Governing Board members.
- Manage the development and implementation of a comprehensive plan for infusing and integrating computers and technology into the instructional process.
- Assure students and staff have access to technology needed to meet or exceed state standards.
- Oversee training and professional development of district staff, administrators, teachers and other personnel to ensure the success of technology implementations.
- Provide technology support for all students with an emphasis on special needs including gifted, students with disabilities, English Language Learner Program, etc.
- Ensures compliance with licensing, copyright laws, and regulations related to district-wide technology support systems, software and services.
- Establish implementation plans and timelines as well as determining appropriate rights to applications and resources.
- Manage and monitor the call tracking system and Service Level Agreement to ensure the successful tracking and resolution of internal customers’ technology issues.
- Implement systemic improvements including formalization of procedures and protocols.
- Provide leadership in the development of the District Technology Plan and the District Technology Disaster Recovery Plan.
- Promote a culture of trust and collaboration within the district to achieve common technology goals, adopting a customer-centric approach, providing accountability, and facilitating communications among stakeholders.
- Ensure alignment of IT and district goals in meeting our strategic needs.
- Ensure data integrity and application access.
- Streamline the IT equipment purchasing process through new policies and procedures. Improve the equipment tracking system, and licensing process.
- Ensure the creation, maintenance, and renewal of adequate network infrastructure, connectivity, bandwidth, hardware, software, communications, media, and technical support to meet academic and business needs for effective and efficient operations.
- Evaluate the potential impact of technological advances on current and future information systems’ requirements and unsure proper use of technology advances in concert with District goals.
- Provide periodic feedback on the status of information systems and research activities and requirements to Cabinet and the Governing Board. Prepare reports regarding information systems and research services.
- Provide 24/7 critical response to system outages and emergencies.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS AND REQUIREMENTS

- Bachelor’s Degree required.
- Five or more years of experience in managing the Management of Information Services or technology field in a comparable sized organization.
- Three or more years of supervision experience.
- Experience in managing and maintaining budget, spending process and securing adequate funding.
- Proven leadership experience.
- Valid IVP Fingerprint Clearance card
- Strong technical background, including familiarity with educational processing environments, database systems, messaging systems, compliance technology, networking, and internet technologies. Exchange, Outlook and SharePoint experience a plus.
- Extensive experience in technology project planning and implementation of medium to large-scale technology solutions.
- Proficiency with MS-Office applications, such as MS-Project, MS-Word and Excel and PowerPoint.
- Familiarity with change management, disaster recovery, compliance and quality assurance policies, procedures and standards a plus.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills. Frequent communication with students and employees including the exchange of accurate information.
- Excellent organizational, planning and management skills.
- Ability to travel between site locations.
- Training and instructional experience preferred.
