Job Title: Milling Machine Machinist 3 (2nd Shift)
Pay Rate: $55 to $70/Hr
Duration: 12 Months
Location: Palmdale, CA (Onsite)
Shift - 2nd Shift - 3:00 PM to 1:30 AM Pacific time
We are looking for Milling Machine Machinist 3 (2nd Shift)
Responsibilities:
- Sets up and operates plain or universal, horizontal, or vertical milling machines to perform machining operations such as compound angles and contours; boring compound angular holes; doing helical and spiral milling; serrating; and gear, spline, and keyway cutting to exacting tolerances.
- Selects, mounts, and aligns various specialized machine attachments and standard or improvised tooling; plans sequence of operations, number of cuts required, and method of setup; determines, sets, and adjusts speeds, feeds, and depth of cut; interprets blueprints, sketches, and engineering specifications; uses a variety of machinist hand tools and precision measuring instruments; makes standard shop computations; and measures, marks, and scribes dimensions and reference points to lay out stock for machining.
- May monitor and verify quality in accordance with statistical processes or other control procedures.
- Requires completion of a formal apprenticeship or equivalent training and experience.
- Exclude general, all-around machinists and operators who do not perform their own setups or determine the sequence of operations.
Qualifications:
- High School Diploma or GED is required
- 5 or more years of experience in the machining manufacturing industry, 6 or more years of experience in the machining manufacturing industry.
- CNC Machining & MasterCAM Programming.
- Tooling setup, Material knowledge
- Machine Tool Technology Certificate from an educational institute or military.
- Experience in the use of various measuring instruments including micrometers, bore gauges, calipers, comparators, or other instruments
- Demonstrated ability to work with limited guidance.
- Demonstrated written and oral communication skills.
- Experience using Microsoft Office applications, such as MS Excel, Outlook, Word, and PowerPoint
- 3-4 axis machining programming using Master CAM
- Previous experience running lathes, mills, grinders, drills, and other machining equipment
- Experience, in setting up and machining with CNC machinery
- Experience reading and interpreting drawings (GD&T) and schematics.
