Position Summary:
The Client , is seeking a qualified Technical Writer to join their team in. As a Technical Writer, you will be responsible for editing, reviewing, and enhancing documents related to system applications and communication materials for the agency. This is a temporary position with the potential for renewal based on performance and available funding.
Primary Duties & Responsibilities:
- Editing & Reviewing: Edit and review agency system applications for grammar, clarity, style, and consistency. Ensure documentation adheres to the highest standards of clarity and correctness.
- Content Development: Assist in the creation and refinement of technical documents, manuals, and related materials that support the agency's system applications.
- Collaboration: Work closely with team members to ensure that the written content is accurate, effective, and aligned with departmental guidelines and regulations.
- Document Formatting: Organize and format documents to ensure they meet the necessary requirements, including AP Style for grammar, flow, and consistency.
- Communication: Act as a liaison between various departments to ensure the technical documents reflect the correct information and meet the needs of stakeholders.
Skills Required
- Bachelor’s degree in journalism, English, communications, or related field: Required
- Excellent writing, editing, and proofreading skills with a keen eye for detail: Required
- Experience in copywriting and editing: Required, 3 years
- Experience writing and adhering to AP Style: Required
- Excellent writing portfolio demonstrating the ability to use brand voice appropriately: Required
- Ability to work independently and with a team: Required
- Background in writing for government entities: Highly desired
