Infosys is seeking an Aircraft Fuselage/Wing Stress Engineer. This position will interface with key stakeholders and apply your technical proficiency across different stages of the Software Development Life Cycle including Requirements Elicitation, Application Architecture definition and Design. You will play an important role in creating the high-level design artifacts. You will also deliver high quality code deliverables for a module, lead validation for all types of testing and support activities related to implementation, transition and warranty. Required Qualifications:
- Candidate must be located within commuting distance of Richardson, TX or be willing to relocate to the area.
- Bachelor’s degree mechanical or aerospace engineering or foreign equivalent required from an accredited institution. Will also consider three years of progressive experience in the specialty in lieu of every year of education.
- At least 4 years of experience in Aerospace Industry as a Stress Engineer
- Comprehensive knowledge Stress analysis of Aero structures.
- Perform Static, fatigue and damage tolerance analysis for Aircraft structures using classical hand calculation.
- Applicant should be familiar with Boeing Static and Book 1,2 and 3 Fatigue Analysis Methodologies
- Applicant should be familiar with and have prior experience with the following Boeing Stress Tools, including IAS, XSA/SA , FEADMS, IDTAS, Moss-Duberg, and FAMOSS Understanding of load paths, extraction of loads from Finite Element Models.
- Applicant should be familiar with Damage Tolerance Analysis and CFR25.571
- Determination of critical failure modes and performing analysis to ensure structural integrity.
- Analysis of aircraft primary/secondary metallic structures.
- Read and interpret engineering drawings.
- Coordinate with cross functional groups including Design, Materials & Process Engineering.
- Participate in review meetings with Customer and SMEs.
- Generate Engineering Stress Report which establishes compliance and safety.
- Interact with customer; understand the Scope of Work and methodology required to meet customer expectations.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Knowledge of Aerospace industry and standards
- Experience in metallic and Composites structural analysis
- Experience in Load, stress calculations and preparing technical reports
- Experience in Finite Element Analysis tools (Nastran, Patran)
- Experience in static, fatigue and damage tolerance calculations
- Strong oral and written communication skills
- Knowledge of Aerospace industry and standards
- Experienced in PATRAN, NASTRAN, FEMAP
- Experience in MRB and SRM
- Experience in CATIA V5, Enovia
- Strong oral and written communication and interpersonal skills.
The job entails sitting as well as working at a computer for extended periods of time. Should be able to communicate by telephone, email or face to face. Travel may be required as per the job requirements.
