Job Summary:
We are seeking an experienced Onsite Support Technician to join our team. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience installing, maintaining, and troubleshooting various networking infrastructure components, as well as have direct experience with remote software troubleshooting. This position requires exceptional problem-solving skills, strong attention to detail, and the ability to provide professional onsite support to clients.
Key Responsibilities:
- Identify and resolved technical issues on hardware and software
- Answering customer questions to learn about their situation
- Asking questions to get a better idea of what might be wrong
- Document onsite and/or remote support activity in ticketing system
- Installing and configuring hardware and software
- Effectively communicating technical information to non-technical users in a clear and concise manner
Required Skills and Experience:
- Proven experience with network hardware (routers, switches, firewalls, APs).
- 3 years minimum in an IT support role, MSP experience is highly preferred!
- Minimal experience / familiarity with Windows Servers, Active Directory, Group Policy, and Microsoft 365 Administration.
- Minimal understanding of virtualization technologies including VMware and Hyper-V.
- Experienced with end user desktop support including desktop hardware repair, drive replacement and disk imaging practices, operating system installation, malware remediation, and email system troubleshooting.
- Self-driven and ability to work both independently, in a team environment, and act confidently in front of clients even when faced with difficult challenges.
- Solid understanding of cabling standards and structured wiring (Ethernet, fiber optics, coaxial).
- Familiarity with ticketing and service management platforms (Autotask, ConnectWise, ServiceNow).
- Competency using remote management (RMM) and remote desktop tools (TeamViewer, Splashtop, NinjaOne, Datto RMM).
Preferred Qualifications:
- Certifications such as CompTIA Network , Cisco CCNA, or similar.
- Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to clearly communicate technical concepts to non-technical users.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
Work Environment:
This role involves frequent onsite visits, requiring reliable transportation and flexibility. Occasional after-hours or weekend work may be necessary to ensure network availability and client satisfaction.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $55,000.00 - $65,000.00 per year
