Overview
An IPC Certified Solderer is a technician or specialist who is trained and certified in the standards for soldering electronic components, as defined by the IPC (Institute of Printed Circuits). This certification ensures the individual meets the industry’s best practices and quality standards for soldering and assembly in electronic manufacturing.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Soldering electronic components to circuit boards or assemblies according to IPC standards.
- Using various tools such as soldering irons, soldering stations, and reflow ovens to complete soldering tasks.
- Inspecting solder joints for defects such as cold solder, bridging, or insufficient solder.
- Adhering to safety protocols when handling soldering equipment, chemicals, and materials.
- Keeping records of soldering work performed, including any issues or deviations from the process.
- Maintaining and cleaning soldering equipment and tools to ensure proper functionality and safety.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
- Assembly and soldering (hand) of Printed Circuit Boards and assemblies.
- Prior experience in soldering or electronics assembly is usually required.
- Ability to detect subtle soldering defects and take corrective actions.
- Assembly of elector-mechanical assemblies and sub-assemblies.
Job Type: Contract
Pay: $20.00 - $21.00 per hour
