Key Responsibilities :
Soldering and Assembly :
Perform soldering of electronic components onto printed circuit boards (PCBs) according to IPC standards.
Use appropriate tools and techniques for soldering components (e.g., hand soldering, wave soldering, reflow soldering).
Quality Inspection and Assurance :
Inspect solder joints to ensure they meet IPC-A-610 standards for acceptable soldering quality.
Rework and Repair :
Rework or repair faulty solder joints and components on PCBs as necessary.
Use tools like soldering irons, hot air rework stations, and desoldering equipment for the repair process.
Adherence to Standards :
Follow IPC guidelines for soldering processes, material handling, and assembly standards.
Documentation and Reporting :
Record and document soldering processes, inspections, and any issues or repairs.
Report quality issues to senior technicians, engineers, or supervisors and suggest improvements when necessary.
Collaboration :
Work closely with engineers, designers, and other team members to ensure products are assembled and repaired correctly.
Tool Maintenance :
Regularly clean and maintain soldering equipment, tools, and workstations to ensure they are in proper working condition.
Required Skills and Qualifications :
IPC Certification (e.g., IPC-J-STD-001, IPC-A-610) is required or preferred to demonstrate knowledge of industry standards for soldering and PCB assembly.
Hands-on Soldering Experience : Proficiency with hand soldering, reflow soldering, and / or wave soldering processes.
