Position Overview

The Network/Systems Administrator will play a key role in managing IT infrastructure projects and ensuring the seamless deployment and maintenance of network and system environments. This role requires a strong foundation in network design, security, and application migrations, with hands-on experience in site moves, network buildouts, and access control systems. The ideal candidate will also have a project management mindset, ensuring best practices are followed when implementing IT solutions.

Key Responsibilities

Project Management & Implementation

• Lead and coordinate IT projects, including site moves and network buildouts.
• Ensure adherence to project management best practices to meet deadlines and budget requirements.
• Document project plans, timelines, and implementation strategies for network and system upgrades.
  
  

Network Infrastructure:

• Design, deploy, and maintain network infrastructure, including switches, routers, and firewalls.
• Oversee the installation and configuration of access points for wireless connectivity.
• Troubleshoot network performance issues and optimize configurations for efficiency and security.
• Collaborate with stakeholders to ensure network scalability and reliability.
  
  

Security & Access Control:

• Implement and manage firewalls, VPNs, and network security policies.
• Oversee access control systems and ensure secure authentication protocols.
• Monitor and respond to security threats, ensuring compliance with best practices.
  
  

Systems Administration & Application Migrations:

• Support server environments, virtualization, and cloud-based applications.
• Lead application migrations, including identity and access management solutions such as Okta.
• Ensure smooth integration of new applications into the existing infrastructure.
• Maintain system documentation and troubleshoot escalated IT issues.
  
  

Required Skills & Experience

• 5 years of experience in network and systems administration.
• Strong knowledge of network design, security, and troubleshooting.
• Hands-on experience with deploying access points, firewalls, and access control systems.
• Experience managing site moves and IT infrastructure buildouts.
• Proficiency in application migrations, including Okta and cloud-based services.
• Familiarity with firewalls, VPNs, and endpoint security solutions.
• Ability to apply project management best practices to IT infrastructure deployments.
• Strong documentation and communication skills, with the ability to collaborate across teams.
  
  

Preferred Qualifications

• Certifications such as CCNA, Network , Security , or PMP.
• Experience with cloud-based networking and hybrid environments.
• Knowledge of virtualization technologies (VMware, Hyper-V, AWS, or Azure).
