The Senior Software Engineer (Mobile) will play a key role in agile product development team. You'll be working on a new mobile application built in React Native which interacts with our existing Ruby on Rails API. You will influence the design and implementation of the mobile application from the ground up.
What you will be doing… You will be developing a new React Native application to replace our existing mobile application. We will reimplement and modernize a subset of existing functionality and code, followed by a continuous effort to add features as directed by the business. As a team, we utilize Test Driven Development, code review everything, and collaborate and share knowledge daily via video chat and screen sharing.
What your background should look like (minimum qualifications) Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related field, or equivalent work experience.Typically has more than 5 years of application development experience. Has a broad level of understanding surrounding JavaScript and React. Demonstrates solid application development aptitude with a focus on frontend development, and a genuine interest in all software technologies. Demonstrated ability to analyze and interpret complex problems or processes that span multiple business areas, identify and understand requirements, and develop alternate solutions.
Required Skills - JavaScript - React Native - HTML CSS - UI / UX (thinking through user stories and proposing / designing solutions)
Nice to have - TypeScript - CoffeeScript (for reading existing code which is being replaced) - Web / Mobile Design experience
