What are the responsibilities and job description for the Filler Operator position at Initiative Foods?
Overnight position. 9 p.m. to 5:30 a.m.
A Filler Operator is responsible for operating and maintaining filling equipment, ensuring products are filled accurately and packaged correctly. They also monitor the production line, perform quality checks, and document processes, while adhering to safety protocols and company standards.
- Operating and Maintaining Equipment: Setting up, operating, and monitoring the filler equipment, including making adjustments to ensure proper filling and packaging.
- Quality Control: Performing scheduled quality checks, monitoring weights, seals, and overall packaging integrity.
- Documentation: Completing all required documentation, including logs and reports, in accordance with Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
- Troubleshooting: Identifying and resolving basic to moderate operating difficulties, and reporting more complex issues to supervisors.
- Changeovers: Performing filler and filler line changeovers safely and efficiently.
- Safety and Sanitation: Maintaining a clean and safe work environment, adhering to safety regulations, and ensuring proper sanitation procedures are followed.
- Material Handling: Ensuring the correct packaging materials are used and that the equipment is properly prepared for each production run.
- Communication: Maintaining communication with other departments, supervisors, and employees, and notifying them of any issues that may affect production.
- Continuous Improvement: Assisting in identifying opportunities to improve processes and contribute to a positive work environment.
- Sample Collection: Collecting samples for quality assurance testing.
- Inventory Management: Monitoring inventory of packaging materials and supplies.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $17.00 - $21.00 per hour
Expected hours: No less than 40 per week
