Position Overview
A premier vacation rental company in Hawaii seeks an experienced Director of Engineering to oversee the maintenance and engineering operations of a multi-tower resort property. This leadership role involves managing mechanical, electrical, structural, and HVAC systems while ensuring a safe and exceptional guest experience. The Director of Engineering collaborates with the Resort Leadership Team to drive energy conservation initiatives, maintain budgets, and achieve operational goals in a unionized environment.
Responsibilities
- Lead engineering operations for the resort, including mechanical, structural, electrical, and HVAC systems.
- Conduct regular inspections to ensure safety, quality, and compliance standards.
- Manage a team of 25 union employees, overseeing scheduling, performance, and training.
- Develop and implement energy conservation and sustainability programs.
- Oversee renovation, repair, and maintenance projects across the property.
- Manage departmental budgets and ensure financial sustainability.
- Update and maintain the resort’s Emergency Preparedness and Safety Plans.
- Collaborate with other departments to address guest concerns and optimize satisfaction.
