The Supplemental Scheduler III fills in for vacation and sick calls at Holy Family Outpatient Based Imaging Center Monday-Friday day shift.

Summary: The Interventional Care Specialist is responsible for coordinating the patient flow for the IR clinic.

General Description: The Interventional Care Specialist must be able to work effectively and efficiently in a fast paced environment in meeting continual deadlines. The Interventional Radiology Care Specialist must be able to handle multiple priorities with constant interruptions. Organization is essential in order to meet deadlines.

The Interventional Care Specialist interacts with the radiologists, other departments within Inland Imaging, patients and family members and a variety of outside contacts. The Interventional Radiology Care Specialist must have excellent written, verbal and personal communication skills. Tact and diplomacy must be used at all times. A high degree of confidential information in this job requires the Professional Radiology Assistant to maintain this confidential environment. The Interventional Radiology Care Specialist makes decisions regarding daily work priorities and other decisions based on company policies and procedures.

Essential Duties/Responsibilities: To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.   • Ensures Provider has all paperwork needed for each exam, including previous reports, history and physicals, lab results, and referral slips.
  • Assists Radiologist with various functionality of computer applications, signing and or proxy signing reports as needed.
  • Faxes or calls report to referring physician on request.
  • Tracks and follows up on inpatient procedures.
  • Schedules patient consultations and follow-up exams including diagnostic tests.
  • Interacts with patients prior to and after exam, having adequate knowledge of interventional and vein procedures, treatments, outcomes, and possible complications.
  • Prepares, updates and sends out exam packet information.
  • Utilizes computer programs effectively.
  • Send out finalized consultation/exam reports, along with images to all Physicians on record in a timely manner, regarding queue physician prior to clinic day.
  • Talks to insurance companies for pre-authorizations for consultations, monitors those reimbursements, and follows up as needed.
  • Ensures that previous medical records are received and scanned for scheduled appointments.
  • Answers and fields patient calls.
  • Maintains and updates IR website.
  • Maintains electric files for all physicians. This is to include but not limited to physician letters, teaching files, sorted by case.
  • Obtains medical information from the medical library when requested by the physician.
  • Uses the internet to search for requested articles by physicians.
  • Used the internet to submit insurance preauthorization forms for procedures.
  • Schedules meetings at the request of the physicians and arrange for meeting locations.
  • This position may be required to work in a hospital, urgent care or clinical setting.
  • Other special projects and duties as assigned.

  • Adheres to departmental standards and personnel policies by demonstrating professional demeanor in conduct and appearance.
  • Follows company departmental standards and personnel policies by using good teamwork and communication skills to help identify concerns and solutions, assisting where needed to ensure a smooth functioning department.
  • Follows all Health and Safety policies and guidelines of Inland Imaging or its partners depending on work location.
  • Performs other duties as required by displaying team spirit and self-growth, accepting and performing other projects and responsibilities, and requesting other projects and responsibilities.
  • Rotates to other shifts and locations as needed – generally does not rotate.
  • Attendance is required for this position.

Qualifications:

  • Education: High School Diploma/GED required
  • Experience: Two years of medical office experience is required

o Communication and interpersonal skillso Detail oriented, ability to multi task and ability to work in a fast paced environmento Knowledge of IR procedures and exams is preferredo Knowledge of CPT and ICD9 Codes is preferredo Key-board and computer skillso Anatomy and medical terminology is preferredo Understanding of all procedures to be read by a Radiologist is preferred

  • Licensure: N/A
  • Certifications: N/A
  • Computer Skills: Experience with the following computer applications is highly desired: Outlook; Kronos; Replicon; Imagecast; Stentor; Flowcast; Web Portals, Amazing Charts, Reqlogic.
  • Ability to consider individual needs in communication with and assessment and treatment of patients of all ages
  • Background Check:

o Must be able to pass a background check required by RCW 43.43.830-840 to work with children under the age of 16, developmentally disabled persons or vulnerable adultso In order to comply with provisions set forth in Sections 1128 and 1156 of the Social Security Act, all new employees of Inland Imaging Clinical Associates, LLC will be checked against the LIST OF EXCLUDED INDIVIDUALS provided by the Department of Health & Human Services, Office of the Inspector General (OIG). Employees must not be included on this list.

  • Drug Test: Eligible employees must be able to pass a post-offer, pre-employment drug test which includes Marijuana.
