What are the responsibilities and job description for the Maintenance & Landscaping position at Inn At Ocean's Edge?
Maintenance / Landscaping staff contribute to the overall success of The Inn at Ocean's Edge by maintaining the performance, upkeep, general repair of our buildings and grounds with a strong aptitude and understanding towards gardening, including planting, pruning, designing, arranging, etc. Perform such tasks in a professional and timely manner so as to minimize the visibility of any defect to the guests, and to ensure their confidence in the business and the comfort of their stay.
Location: The Inn At Ocean's Edge, Lincolnville, ME
Hours: Full time, 35-40 hours per week depending on time of year. Great flexibility!
Compensation: $18 - $22 an hour, depending on experience.
Seasonal Position: early April through October
Start date: April 7, 2025
Benefits: Discounted stays and food & beverage at affiliated properties.
Experience: Some gardening/landscaping experience required.
SUMMARY OF ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
· Knowledge of flowers, shrubs, trees and grasses
· Knowledge of plant/tree/shrub maintenance
· Ability to create aesthetic appeal through gardening
· Sourcing and designing planters, annual beds, and interior vases (to include seeds and bulbs)
· Planting, weeding, raking, tilling and edging
· Pruning, deadheading, trimming, watering
· Amending soil and planters
· Carting debris away
· Knowledge of hand and power tools
· Work with Maint Supervisor to repair and keep in good order the Inn’s rooms, buildings, facilities and pool, etc
· Ability to work with minimal supervision.
SUMMARY OF ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

- Carry or wheel loads of up to 50 lbs uphill
- Bend, kneel, and squat for extended periods of time
- Willing to use own vehicle to source plants from various garden centers in the area
