Day Camp Counselor
Location: Camp Innabah, Spring City, PA
Position Type: Seasonal (Summer Camp)

General Responsibilities
- Accompany and be responsible for campers, attending all scheduled activities set forth in the camp schedule.
- Actively participate in all program areas. This includes helping specialists lead the program when asked, participating in activity when appropriate, being involved in whatever happens.
- Encourage campers to participate in all activities, helping when needed.
- Be responsible for having campers clean up before leaving any area. Examples: craft area, lunch table, store/snack time etc.
- Take special care to teach campers to respect and be aware of the environmental impact of trash on the camp grounds and to wildlife.
- Hold campers accountable for their behavior and administer appropriate discipline as needed.
- Use good judgment in caring for the safety and well-being of all campers in your care following the guidelines in the staff manual.
- Be respectful in your treatment of campers and staff alike, teaching the campers to do the same.
- Plan and execute all scheduled activities as designated by the camp schedule.
- Follow and present age-appropriate games, relays, and activities for campers that allow all children to participate regardless of athletic ability.
- Activities should include non-competitive as well as competitive games.
- Be aware of any safety issues involved with each activity. Do activities need to be altered to reduce accidents or injuries?
- Be prepared at all times with alternate activities if weather prohibits being able to follow planned program, i.e. rain, extreme heat.
- Be responsible for set up, clean up, and care of all areas, equipment, and supplies used.
- Bring to your supervisor’s attention any broken or unsafe equipment for replacement.
- Be prepared at all times with rainy day activities.
- Clean assigned areas daily/at week’s end.
- Participate in supporting all aspects of furthering spiritual growth in campers and fellow staff.
- Attend all scheduled staff meetings.
- Strive to maintain an attitude of service as set forth in the staff contract.

Physical Requirements
- Ability to participate in physical activities such as hiking, swimming, and games.
- Ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions.
Schedule and Compensation
- Full-time, seasonal position during the summer camp season June 16 - August 8.
- Hours generally align with the day camp schedule, Monday through Friday.
- Compensation: Competitive weekly stipend.
