Qualified Mental Health Professional needed to assist youth in learning ways to manage their anger. Sometimes, that entails teaching clients how to resolve problems before emotions spiral out of control. At other times, problems may not be resolvable, and the QMHP may need to teach clients’ coping and relaxation techniques. The QMHP may also recommend certain lifestyle changes to avoid angry emotions. The QMHP will serve a population ranging from all ages if needed; however, primary is juveniles. Follow a curriculum and provide interventions while tailoring the curriculum to the needs of the client for a person-centered approach.
QUALIFICATIONS:
· Must have a QMHP-T or QMHP
· Applicants must have current auto insurance
· Valid Driver’s License with favorable driving record required (no more than 2 moving violations and one at-fault accident in the last 3 years; no DUIs in the last 5 years)
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, FUNCTIONS AND ABILITIES:
· Work with clients that are experiencing uncontrollable anger in a one-on-one setting
· Encourage clients to express their thoughts and emotions openly in order to identify triggers of anger or scenarios where high emotions are common
· Teach clients about their triggers, and educate them on how to recognize and avoid high-emotion scenarios
· Educate client on strategies for controlling or avoiding anger, such as communication techniques, relaxation techniques, and applying logic to situations
· Help clients resolve ongoing triggers by making suggestions for lifestyle changes
· Develops, implements, and coordinates treatment plans for achieving specified client goals. Coordinates necessary resources and works with interdisciplinary teams to achieve goals and objectives
· Acts as a client advocate to coordinate required services or to resolve emergency problems in crisis situations
· Gathers information about community mental health needs and resources that could be used in conjunction with treatment
· Collaborates with other service providers and probation officer to reinforce treatment goals, provide updates and increase client involvement
· Works with clients to foster the development of new improved coping, problem solving, and communication skills, case management, etc. and any goals as directly related to the client’s individualized service plan
· Monitors, evaluates, and records client progress with respect to treatment goals
· Counsel or aid family members to assist them in understanding, dealing with, or supporting the client
· Develops individualized service plans in conjunction with referring agencies, other social services professionals directly involved in the care of the youths and their families served
· Educates family members regarding existing community services, and acts as an advocate in connecting family members to these services
· Demonstrates an ability to work collaboratively with a team approach and research, plan, monitor and implement creative and innovative interventions, tools, strategies and resources to stabilize the family
· Must have access to personal computer to access case documentation
· Meets with Program manager and attends staff meetings and trainings as required
· Good Communication, time management, organizational and writing skills
· Demonstrates ability to prepare initial and on-going assessments, treatment plans, progress notes, and monthly reports required by Inner Circle in the required time period
