What are the responsibilities and job description for the Content and Creative Projects Intern position at InnerCity Weightlifting?
Position Type: Part-time ; 10-15 hours/week
Reports To: Chief Operating Officer
InnerCity Weightlifting's (ICW) mission is to reduce gun violence by amplifying the voice and agency of people who have been most impacted by systemic racism and mass incarceration.
We partner with program participants through case management and careers in and beyond personal training. Individuals are elevated as experts in fitness and the social issues they've lived. ICW is a culture and community in which power dynamics are flipped, social capital is bridged, and new leaders emerge in the fight to combat long-standing inequities.
Position Overview: The Content and Creative Projects Intern will assist the ICW Marketing team in executing the Social Media strategy through content creation, Social Media analysis, and have the opportunity to assist in other marketing initiatives as needed.
Key Responsibilities:
Content Creation
- Work alongside ICW marketing team to develop content plan and strategy
- Schedule gym visits and recording times to collect content for social media and marketing campaigns
- Create engaging content that showcases ICW’s mission and offerings
- Edit collected content and post according to the marketing plan
- Present final results to the marketing team and receive feedback or approval before posting
Other
- Monitor KPIs for each post tracking social media engagement, impressions, and other metrics
- Assist in other projects as assigned
Qualifications:
- Interest in social justice and passionate about ICW mission
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, with an emphasis on creativity and storytelling.
- Must be able to work both collaboratively and independently to help advance the mission, work, and opportunities of ICW and our Participants
- Experience in video editing
