Background:
The Maryland State Department of Education (MSDE) Division of Assessment, Accountability, and Performance Reporting provides assessment, accountability, and technical support for all 24 local education agencies (LEA). We provide resources to help develop world-class students who are lifelong learners and productive, responsible citizens of a global society.
This position will support LEA data collection of Maryland student and teacher information using Oracle WebLogic applications. The TO resource will be responsible for operating and maintaining existing applications, as well as developing new applications as required by the client.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Install, upgrade, test, implement, and support an Oracle 11g and Oracle 19c WebLogic infrastructure capable of deploying JDeveloper ADF applications.
- Manage the conversion of existing Oracle Forms 6i Client/server architecture to an ADF web-based architecture.
- Interface with the Oracle DBA, SYS administrators, and end-users.
- Design, document, develop, implement, and support JDeveloper applications using an Oracle 11g/19c with backend RDMS Oracle 19c.
- Implement and incorporate Oracle 11g/19c OBIEE reports into JDeveloper applications.
- Build stored procedures, packages, and other database components in PL/SQL programming language.
- Provide copies of the application, database, and website non-compiled native code at the completion of each approved system.
- Deliver appropriate documentation including the user guide in accordance with the SDLC for each approved system.
- Perform application software support of MSDE s accountability applications to ensure continuous operation of the systems.
- Research, troubleshoot, and resolve any application problems, data anomalies, or software bugs encountered.
- Make any changes to MSDE s accountability applications as directed by the TO Manager or requested by users in writing.
- Conduct unit and system-level testing on the MSDE Accountability Oracle WebLogic education data reporting system.
- Provide recommendations, if needed, for approval of major system installations.
- Attend internal MSDE staff meetings as requested.
- Set up MSDE s Accountability applications in production as per the schedule and timeline.
- Modify systems as required by State or federal legislation.
*Education:
Bachelor s degree in business administration, Computer Science, Engineering, or related field required.
*Required Experience:
- At least seven (7) years of full-time progressive Oracle database applications development experience.
- At least seven (7) years of full-time progressive JDeveloper, Application Developer Framework (ADF), Java 2 Enterprise Edition (J2EE), JDeveloper, and Apache development tools experience.
- Technically proficient in Oracle WebLogic.
- Possess excellent interpersonal and written communication skills.
