What are the responsibilities and job description for the Operator - Wastewater position at Innospec Inc.?
We are looking to add a Wastewater Operator to our growing team in Salisbury, NC.
Schedule: Wednesday - Sunday, 12:00pm-8:30pm
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Follow setup procedures for equipment
- Follow work instructions for operation of wastewater equipment
- Operate pumps, Diffused Air Flotation, gravity clarifier, and other plant equipment within safe operating ranges
- Monitor wastewater conditions and make necessary adjustments on equipment to ensure the wastewater conforms to the site’s Pre-treatment and Spray field Permits.
- Work with all chemicals and any other products used in wastewater processes, following applicable safety procedures
- Accurately and timely record data
- Run inhouse analysis of wastewater
- Sample wastewater and spray field as required by the above-mentioned Permits.
- Perform other duties and tasks assigned to wastewater as directed - including field checks, equipment preparation, samples, etc.
- As required, initiate and participate in company near-miss and Journey to Zero Harm programs
- Maintain clean and safe work area
- Follow all safety rules and regulations, including the use of appropriate PPE at all times
- Ability to work 8-hour non-rotating shifts 5 days/weekend.
- Ability to work overtime as required and in the event of emergencies
- Ability to successfully pass State Certification in Wastewater Operations within 12 months of position start date
- Ability to work well as part of a team
- Basic math skills such as adding, subtracting, multiplying, and dividing

- High school diploma or equivalent
- Previous wastewater plant experience
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
- Ability to stand and/or walk continuously throughout an 8-hour shift on flooring surfaces of concrete, steel, or metal grating
- Frequently climbing or descending stairs
- Capable of frequently pulling hoses (up to 50 lbs.) across the floor
- Pushing equipment on casters across the floor
- Pushing or rolling drums weighing up to 500 lbs
- In addition to standing, climbing, walking, pushing, and pulling, the frequent physical demands of the position are lifting, carrying, balancing, stooping, crouching, reaching, handling, grasping, repetitive motions, and eye/hand/foot coordination, and feeling.

Pay: $20.00 - $35.00 per hour
