Job Description – Downline Operator
Location : Millville, NJ
Shift : 6 : 00PM - 6 : 00AM - 12 hour shift - 2,2,3 Schedule
Reports to : Operations Supervisor
Job Summary :
Operate and constantly monitor the packaging machines and palletizer to achieve production goals, and to identify and alert maintenance and management of mechanical and operational issues.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities :
Ensure the equipment is stocked with packaging materials such as corrugated wraps and glue for cases and stretch wrap at palletizerOperate automatic palletizer and wrapperMonitor the manual palletizing during shift to ensure steady productionSet-up and monitor barcode scanners and printersOperate forklift when neededPerform all quality checks such as monitoring the temperature, weight of the product, verifying gable codes, and case codesAccurately document and report operator quality inspections, take line samples per guidelines, and monitor case packing equipment to ensure it is functioning correctlyClear jams and spills and manually operate equipment as necessaryPicking and staging outbound ordersEffectively maintain product storage and rotationUnload, sort, and stack pallets keeping the palletizer always loadedProvide break and lunch relief to co-workers in the areaAttend and participate in daily shift meetingsUphold visual management of the work areaFollows and supports continuous improvement methodologiesStrict adherence to all safety, health, and environmental policiesStrict adherence to all GMP and food safety policiesPerform necessary preventive maintenance on equipment as neededReport all equipment malfunctions and abnormalities to Maintenance Technicians for follow-up and repairsCreate and follow-up on work orders for area as neededCompletes all required training on timeOther duties as assigned Minimum Requirements :
High School Diploma or equivalentAbility to perform mathematical calculations related to weights, measures and record keepingAbility to read and comprehend simple instructionsAbility to read, speak, and write in EnglishRequired to regularly lift up to 50lbsFlexibility to work overtime and additional shifts based on business needsDesired Qualities :
