Job SummaryThe Field Service Engineer 3 / Field Service Manager at American Medical Imaging (AMI) is a senior-level role open to experienced engineers or those with leadership capabilities, focusing on providing high-level technical support, troubleshooting, and maintenance services for advanced X-ray equipment. In this role, you’ll not only ensure optimal performance of X-ray systems but also play a leadership role in guiding team members, implementing best practices, and supporting continuous improvement.
We seek a skilled and experienced professional specializing in the repair, maintenance, and calibration of X-ray systems, with strong technical expertise and a thorough understanding of diagnostic imaging equipment. Candidates who bring managerial experience and an aptitude for mentoring or leading a team are highly encouraged to apply. OEM training and certifications from major manufacturers (such as GE, Canon, Carestream, or Philips) are highly desirable.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
Lead complex installations, advanced troubleshooting, and comprehensive repairs on specialized X-ray equipment.
Perform regular maintenance and calibration to ensure optimal system performance, minimizing client downtime.
Serve as a subject matter expert in X-ray technology, providing guidance and mentorship to other engineers and fostering technical growth within the team.
Manage and coordinate field service operations, including work scheduling, quality control, and performance metrics (if in a managerial role).
Develop and deliver specialized training programs for both internal staff and customers, ensuring high standards of service.
Collaborate with engineering and product development teams to contribute to new product innovations and improve existing technologies.
Proactively identify and implement service process improvements, enhancing service delivery and equipment reliability.
Support sales and marketing teams with technical insights and consultation, contributing to customer satisfaction and business development.
Maintain a customer-focused approach, consistently delivering high-quality service and ensuring client satisfaction.
Qualifications Required
Bachelor’s degree in a related field; a Master’s degree or relevant management training is a plus.
Extensive experience in servicing, troubleshooting, and calibrating advanced X-ray equipment.
In-depth knowledge of X-ray technology and imaging modalities.
Leadership experience or demonstrated ability to guide and mentor junior team members.
OEM training and certifications from major manufacturers (such as GE, Canon, Carestream, or Philips) are highly desirable.
Strong problem-solving and analytical abilities, with excellent decision-making skills.
Comprehensive understanding of diagnostic imaging equipment and service management best practices.
Willingness to travel for advanced training, conferences, and client support.
Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, or a related field.
Familiarity with medical imaging equipment and related services is a plus.
Strong communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.
Excellent organizational and time management abilities.
