Main Duties & Responsibilities
- Responsible for executing the production plan and coordinating process, people, and performance to achieve production quality and uptime standards on the shift.
- Ensures shift is performing operations according to sound operating principles and company policies and procedures.
- Maintains thorough knowledge of all processes and equipment.
- Assist with enforcing food safety program and procedures, GMP policy, and personnel hygiene policies.
- Proper use, care, and documentation exists of equipment and materials issued to work area.
- Supports in the efforts of onboarding, training, and reviewing
- Develops a consciousness for the need for teamwork to attain department objectives.
- Organizes work for smooth operations, which includes maintaining clean and orderly work areas.
- Ensures that established policies, rules, regulations, and procedures are followed.
- Verifies that proper documentation is completed accurately, timely, and properly filed.
- Support of and involvement in company, department, and/or safety policies, procedures, programs and activities.
- Continuously looking for opportunities to improve the current processes.
- All other duties as assigned and needed to support operations.
- Associate’s degree or equivalent from two-year college or technical school; or six months to one year related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience preferred.
- 2 years in a leadership role preferred.
- Disciplined approach to safety, quality, delivery and costs.
- Ability to read and interprete documents such as GMP guidance, safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
- Good verbal and written communication skills.
- Must be willing to learn and understand company information technology systems.
- Able to lift 30 pounds repeatedly, 50 pounds frequently, and 75 pounds with assistance, on a daily basis.
- Ability to lift, twist, crawl, reach, grab, bend, stoop, climb, or perform similar activities as needed and stand for long periods.
- Must wear personnel protective equipment as needed.
- Subject to normal warehouse and production environment.
- Subject to high noise levels where hearing protection is required.
- Subject to atmospeheric conditions, such as fumes from the machines, odors, powders, dust, and other particles.
