MAIN DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
- Interface with Sales and customers to provide recommendations and assist in the material selection process of bottles, lids, tamper proof methods, sachets, labels, printing, blister, corrugate etc.
- Develop and monitor packaging schemes for solid dose and powder solutions in the nutraceutical and sports nutrition space
- Work with Process Engineering to support new equipment purchases and deployment
- Support the production floor processes and equipment as needed
- Document, train and audit Standard Operating Procedures (SOP’s) for the production floor
- Research, justify and implement capital expenditures
- Participate and sometimes lead LEAN projects on the floor
- Support daily production by identifying chronic issues and problems that cannot be resolved by production associates.
- Accurate and timely recording of information on specified documents.
- Proper use and care of equipment and materials issued to work area.
- Bachelor degree in Packaging, Manufacturing or Mechanical Engineering with 5 years related experience in Consumer Packaged Goods (CPG)
- Be proficient using AutoCAD & 3D modeling Software
- Knowledge of inspection and measurement instruments is a must.
- Excellent interpersonal communication skills.
- Strong overall computer skills required including Excel and Word proficiency.
- Work well in a team environment and hold to the company values
- Ability to multitask several projects concurrently
- Ability to train others as necessary
- Ability to travel to suppliers and equipment manufacturers
- Experience with using LEAN concepts and process improvement is a plus
- Must be able to understand, speak, read and write in English in order to perform the essential functions of the job, including, but not limited to the ability to utilize computer software, read technical equipment manuals, communicate solutions, write proposals, edit and understand SOP’s, and create documentation and other internal and external communications.
- Regularly subject to normal office environment.
- Occasionally subject to normal warehouse and production environment.
- Occasionally subject to high noise levels where hearing protection is required and all personnel protective equipment is required.
- Occasionally subject to atmospheric conditions, such as fumes, odors, powders, dust and other particles.
