What are the responsibilities and job description for the Manager, Business Development (Proposal) position at Innovative Discovery LLC?
The Manager, Business Development (Proposal) role will manage and build all RFPs, RFIs, Security Questionnaires, etc. with the help of our SMEs; Drive customer success indicatives; Build content and talking pointes for sales engagements; Ensure the ongoing development and management of SalesForce.com.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Be the voice of the client, and work with marketing to develop and execute a content strategy that aligns with the company's image and objective.
- Initiate and maintain a customer success strategy that includes onboarding new clients, measuring satisfaction throughout a project, quarterly business reviews (QBRs), Net Promoter surveys, customer interviews, testimonials and references, project off-boarding, and ongoing relationship initiatives.
- Oversee the RFP/RFI & proposal process for the commercial and government sector.
- Assess solicitations, response timeframes, and other proposal elements to determine the appropriate proposal resources, processes, and schedule to meet client and internal proposal requirements.
- Decompose and translate RFP requirements into a compliance matrix, annotated proposal outline, and content plans
- Direct all proposal activities and teams to develop, draft, and execute proposal plans and ensure content addresses the client's requirements
- Ensure proposals are compliant and perform a final quality check.
- Develop and report on proposal-related metrics, status, etc.
- Stay up to date on industry best practices and communication strategies as necessary.
- Interact with Sales and Management team members to build new opportunities and create promotional concepts.
- Generate Thought Leadership content for the website, blogs, social media posts, etc.
- Develop and maintain Sales Talking Points by crafting product and service messaging and presentations for the Sales team.
- Writing, editing, and proofreading all content to ensure quality, clarity, and consistency. Create, design, and maintain presentations for Sales "Lunch and Learns" and other client presentations or engagements.
- Assist sales efforts as mandated by the VP of Sales
- Independently handle user account maintenance, generate reports and dashboards, workflows, and other tasks for SalesForce.com.
- Assist in training new users and grow the Salesforce.com skill set across the company.
Additional Responsibilities (depending on skillset)
- Create a Customer Relationship Management System "Salesforce" based on our sales life-cycle, including sales stages, activity, opportunities, products, and content type.
- Serve as the primary system administrator for SalesForce.com to include regular system audits and upgrades.

Education and Experience
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in a related field.
- Experience with Microsoft Office.
- Demonstrated ability to manage sales content.
- Strong Adobe Acrobat/Illustrator skills.
- 4-5 years of experience in a similar role.
- Salesforce knowledge or expertise
