Job Responsibilities:
The Optometric Technician’s primary responsibilities will be assisting our doctors with patient care. As we continue to grow, this person may also be asked to support other areas of the practice, primarily front desk related responsibilities.
Detailed responsibilities include:
- Pre-testing including autorefraction, topography, retinal imaging and other testing as necessary
- Preparing the exam room for the patient
- Taking patient history
- Assisting the doctors during the exam as needed
- Ordering contact lenses
- Assist with contact lens training
- Answering the phones
- Scheduling appointments
- Obtaining insurance authorizations
- Reviewing insurance benefits with patients
- Other responsibilities as needed
Preferred Qualities:
- Previous eye care experience is required
- Selfless team player who is assertive, goal-oriented, positive and self-motivated
- Desire to work in a dynamic, fun, and fast-paced environment
- Strong ability to multi-task
- Comfort in a fast-paced environment
- High level of integrity
- Excellent communication skills
- Sense of humor
- Flexibility to work evening and/or weekend hours
