We are looking for a proactive and detail-oriented Engineering/Purchasing Assistant to join our team. The successful candidate will provide vital support to the Engineering department, assisting with various tasks to ensure smooth and efficient operations. This role requires strong organizational skills, technical aptitude, and the ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist engineers with project planning, design, and implementation.
- Maintaining positive relationships between members of the department, with other departments, and customers.
- Creates purchase orders, obtain vendor quotes and expedites PO’s in the Purchasing Managers absence.
- Prepare and maintain technical documentation, including drawings, specifications, and reports.
- Enter data into the ERP system, including part numbers, sales orders, and quote forms.
- Create job travelers and various reports.
- Conduct research and gather data to support engineering projects.
- Coordinate with other departments to ensure project timelines are met.
- Perform routine inspections and quality control checks on engineering projects.
- Accurately file documents such as quotes, job travelers, inspection documents, and machine setup sheets.
- Provides support to accounts receivable in terms of funning job analysis reports in M1 and matching with appropriate customer service orders.
- Provide backup receptionist activities such as answering phones, taking messages, and greeting customers, vendors, and visitors in a professional and courteous manner.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent; an associate’s degree in a related field is preferred.
- One to three years of experience in an office setting.
- Strong technical aptitude and understanding of engineering principles.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and engineering software (e.g., AutoCAD, SolidWorks).
- Excellent organizational and time management skills.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Hours:
- Monday- Friday
- Standard office hours, 7 am-4pm
