Our client, Team Automotive Group, a respected car dealership with eight locations across North and South Carolina, is hiring a Director of People to join their team. This recently created role was established due to the exciting growth in Team Auto Group’s business over the last seven years. The Director of People will report to the CFO and will be a key member of the leadership team and have a “seat at the table”.
This will be a hybrid role based onsite at their offices in Northeast Charlotte. After you're full acclimated to the new role, you can work from your home office one day per week.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
- Continue to develop, hone, and implement HR strategies and initiatives that support Team Automotive's objectives while leading a team of 12 individuals
- Maintain a highly engaging culture that motivates employees and fosters teamwork, accountability, communication, and support of the vision.
- Oversee all aspects of the employee lifecycle, including recruitment, onboarding, performance management, employee relations, and offboarding.
- Partner with department heads and managers to provide guidance and support in all areas of HR, including but not limited to, compensation, benefits, and leave; disciplinary matters; disputes and investigations; performance and talent management; productivity, recognition, and morale; and training and development.
- Work closely with the leadership team to advise, counsel, and provide coaching and resolution to address employees’ performance which also includes career development and disciplinary actions.
- Provide basic HR training for the leadership team such as how to conduct interviews, performance evaluations, documenting performance, and having difficult conversations.
- Drive employee engagement initiatives, including recognition programs, career development opportunities, and diversity and inclusion initiatives.
- Manage and fully utilize the HCM (Netchex)
- Monitor and ensure the organization’s compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations, as well as recommended best practices; review and modify policies and practices to maintain compliance.
- Keep abreast of trends, best practices, regulatory changes, and new technologies in human resources, talent management, and employment law.

COMPENSATION : $150k base salary, plus a generous benefits plan
