What are the responsibilities and job description for the Quality Manager position at INOAC Exterior Systems?
JOB SUMMARY: To ensure that all finished goods meet established customer and company quality standards. The Quality Manager must participate as a member of the Management Team in the development, implementation and maintenance of the Quality Management System and Environmental Management System.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Responsible to maintain the Quality Assurance processes, procedures and standards as per required certifications.
- Make sure all Q.A. related documentation (paperwork) is carried out properly.
- Keep all quality manuals, policies and procedures current and ensure it is used by all Q.A. personnel.
- Improve quality by maintaining the management review process.
- Conduct Plant Q.A. Survey with customer's representatives.
- Ensure required certifications and manuals are maintained and updated as required.
- Implement, lead and participate in continuous improvement activities to ensure direction to targets is maintained and goals are met
- Determines inspection methods, techniques, facility needs and frequency of application of dimensional, functional and environmental testing.
- Analyze the planning of detail parts, assemblies to ensure all engineering and quality assurance processes, standards are properly done.
- Determine the cause of production quality issues and make recommendation for corrective action.
- Liaison between company and customers. Follow up and respond to any customer complaint.
- Develop direct reports and manage departmental performance.
- Keep direct reports regularly informed (through department meetings and one on one discussions of company policies, practices, and procedures and ensure corrective action is promptly taken when required).
- Ensure employees have sufficient job training and information to efficiently perform their tasks in terms of both quality and quantity.
- Other assignments or tasks as requested by the plant manager.
MINIMUM EDUCATION AND SKILLS REQUIRED:
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering from an accredited University.
- 5 years related progressive experience in quality
- Excellent customer relations and communication skills
- Must understand all required Q.A. certification processes.
- Excellent computer skills: Windows, Excel, PowerPoint and Word.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS/WORK ENVIRONMENT: Standing, sitting, walking, stooping, kneeling, crouching, crawling, use of hands to inspect parts, tools, or controls; reach with hands and arms, talking and hearing. Employee will occasionally lift and/or move product. Q.A Manager must successfully pass required color testing where applicable.
