What are the responsibilities and job description for the Wellness Coordinator position at Inomedic Health Applications?
Administers a comprehensive Health Education and Wellness Program for NASA and contractors at the Kennedy Space Center. Coordinates Health Education and Wellness Program duties with the Cape Canaveral Air Force Station and Patrick Air Force Base.
- Performs functions to develop, plans and provides health education and wellness programs for all badged KSC/CCAFS employees, both contractor and civil service.
- The HEW program is to be structured to support the elements of the NASA Occupational Health Program
- Plans, conducts and/or coordinates periodic programs to coincide with national health programs and issues. Research information, define program contents, set up sites, manage publicity campaigns, evaluate and order materials, arrange for and distribute informational packets, respond to questions and coordinate health screening programs, lectures and training sessions.
- Identifies and selects training resources for employee health education programs. Monitors and assesses program results and provides revisions as required to encourage participation and increase program impact.
- Provides lectures and presentations relating to a wide range of health-related issues.
- Provides support for medical training classes. This includes supporting advanced cardiac life support, basic cardiac life support, universal precautions for bloodborne pathogen or CPR; ensuring that program content meets with company standards, certification requirements or contractual agreements.
- Provides individualized employee counseling, recommend lifestyle changes and make referrals for specific health related issues as requested by employees.
- Compiles and submits health-related articles for company and client newsletters.
- Provides education and communications relating to health stabilization programs and special health precautions.
- Works as liaison with community health agencies and other related facilities to coordinate the promotion of current wellness or health education programs, research issues, share information, provide program results or respond to related questions.
- Work with on-site contacts involving issues such as exercise or cafeteria facilities, including the promotion of health through diet and exercise. Coordinates the exchange of health-related data between occupational medicine and environmental health units as required. Participates in the development of departmental planning documents, correspondence and reports.
- Attends and participates in a variety of meetings and task force groups to integrate activities, communicate issues, obtain approvals, resolve problems and maintain specific level of knowledge pertaining to new developments, requirements and policies.
- Assists in active implementation of company initiatives to ensure compliance with OSHA VPP, ISO, JCAHO, and other mandated regulatory or conformance regulations/ standards.
Knowledge / Skills / Abilities:
- Three years of experience in fitness and health promotion program design, coordination and consultation. Master's degree in Health Education, Health Promotion
- Or related discipline is preferred. CHES certification preferred.

- Complies with all Company safety policies and site-specific safety procedures.
- Participates in and supports the MESC safety program. Ensures safe operating conditions within area of responsibility. Identifies potential hazards, concerns, and safety incidents and reports to supervisory personnel.
