Clinical Technician Job Responsibilities:
The Clinical Technician 2 Float provides direct care to patients whose care requirements are routine and standardized, with predictable outcomes, under the direct supervision of the Registered Nurse. Maintains competencies and seek opportunities to develop professionally. Communicates effectively and work cooperatively with others Serves as a unit preceptor and superuser for all new Clinical Technicians.
Job Responsibilities
- Provides direct care to patients whose care requirements are routine and standardized, with predictable outcomes, under the direct supervision of the Registered Nurse
- Effectively communicates with health team members, patients and families; Communicates effectively and works cooperatively with others.
- Assists unit leadership with overseeing other unit Clinical Technician education records.
- Has respect for and an understanding of other clinical disciplines.
- Maintains competencies and seeks opportunities to develop professionally.
- Identifies own learning needs based on self-evaluation and the progress made from the previous year's goals.
- Assumes responsibility for self-development in life long learning and seeks opportunities to further increase practice knowledge.
- May perform additional duties as assigned.
About the Clinical Technician 2 Position:
As a Clinical Technician in the Float Pool, you will float to every unit at Inova Loudoun Hospital, including:
- Med/Surg/Tele
- Critical Care Units
- Emergency Room
- Pediatrics
- Behavioral Health
- Postpartum
Shift: Day (7am - 7.30pm)
Schedule: Three 12 hour shifts per week (with every other weekend rotation)
Training: Ideal candidate must be able to attend a 6 week training course

Requirements:
- Experience: 1 year acute care experience as a Clinical Tech or clinical rotation with an accredited nursing program and/or 2 years of nursing school
- Education: High School graduate or equivalent.
- Certification: BLS within 90 days of hire.
- Training: Candidate must be able to attend six-week training orientation upon hire.
- Special Skills: Proficient in English. Verbal and written communication skills required.
