Registered Nurse (RN) Job Responsibilities:

Registered Nurse (RN) Inpatient Lactation Consultant Additional Requirements:
- Work schedule: 36 hours per week, consisting of 4 shifts. One 12-hour evening weekday shift and three 8-hour shifts. Day shifts are mainly scheduled on weekends, while evening shifts are typically on weekdays. Weekend Commitment: 2 Saturdays and 2 Sundays required within a six-week period.
- Education: BSN from an accredited school of nursing. If RN has an Associate’s Degree (ADN); must complete BSN within 5 years of start date.
- Experience : Required 1 year of experience as a Registered Nurse, for Critical Care units, 1 year of experience as a Registered Nurse in a critical care setting or completion of a critical care fellowship.
- Certification: Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare Provider certification from the American Heart Association required upon start | For Critical Care Units: Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support - Within 6 Months | For Pediatric Units: Pediatric Advanced Life Support- Within 6 Months | For Infusion Center Units: Obtain chemo card- within 3 months of hire
- Licensure: Licensed or eligible for licensure in the Commonwealth of Virginia as a Registered Nurse or an active multi-state Registered Nurse license
Registered Nurse (RN) Inpatient Lactation Consultant Preferred Qualifications:
- Two years of recent Registered Nurse (RN) inpatient experience on a Postpartum Unit.
- Candidates who currently hold an IBCLC certification, or those who are within one year of obtaining their IBCLC certification.
