Inova Northern Virginia Ambulatory Surgery Center is seeking a Full-Time Operating Room Nurse (RN) to join our exceptional team of surgical professionals. The ideal candidate will possess at least one year of experience in Operating Room nursing, with a focus on orthopedic surgery.
We value strong teamwork and also encourage independent problem-solving. The successful candidate will be a proactive, calm, and adaptable individual who can effectively support a variety of needs as they arise within the department.
Our center features five Operating Rooms and three GI/Endo rooms, soon to expand to four. While our primary focus is on orthopedic surgery, we also excel in Total Joints, GYN, Urology, Podiatry, ENT, Plastics, and general surgeries. Our OR Nurses are cross-trained to assist in the Endo suites as needed, providing a dynamic and diverse work environment.

Inova Northern Virginia Ambulatory Surgery Center is conveniently located at 3620 Joseph Siewick Drive, Fairfax, VA 22033, on the campus of Fair Oaks Hospital. As a full-service ambulatory outpatient facility, we are licensed, Medicare-certified, and AAAHC accredited.

WORK SCHEDULE:
- 64 or 72 hours biweekly
- Day shift only, no nights, weekends, call, or holidays
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Circulate and/or scrub surgical procedures
- Providing communication between team members in the surgical field and persons outside the operating room
- Maintaining sterile environment during the surgical procedure
- Conducting and documenting sponge/sharps and instrument counts as required during the surgical procedure
- Completing intra-operative documentation of the procedure
- Acting as the patient’s advocate during patient's stay in the operating room
- Assisting with room turnover, including disposal of trash and linen, cleaning of OR table and floor, assembly and opening of sterile supplies
JOB REQUIREMENTS:
- One year operating room nursing experience is required
- Two or more experience is preferred
- Orthopedic experience is required
- Current RN license in the state of Virginia
- Basic Cardiac Life Support Certification required
