ITS has partnered with an industry leading commercial and industrial electric company in Rochester to recruit a Senior Project Manager, Civil Utilities.
Position Summary :
The Sr Project Manager, Civil Utilities’ reports directly to the Civil Division Leader and is a key partner with building the Company’s Civil Utilities Division by providing estimation and bidding private and public projects and helping bring in new customers. Along with overseeing projects and ensuring detailed reporting, assistance and guidance with Division Leader and Executives.
Key Responsibilities :
Estimation :
Review specifications, drawings, and attend pre-bid meetings. Ensuring plans and specifications for completeness, inconsistencies and conflicts, and identifying and compiling historical project data that can be used in preparation of all estimates.
Identifying labor, material, and time requirements by studying proposals, blueprints, specifications, and related documents.
Resolve discrepancies by collecting and analyzing information.
Precisely estimate the cost of projects.
Calculate various data quantity take-offs for data entry into a computer estimating system.
Identify qualified suppliers / subcontractors and solicit quotes.
Calculate labor factor analysis and modification.
Present prepared estimates by assembling and displaying numerical and descriptive information.
Review projects with team after successful bidding and ensure the project will be profitable.
Work with Chief Estimator and Division Lead to set up job-turn over meeting.
Maintaining files of working documents for back-up to estimating figures.
Assist with all business development efforts including the preparation and presentation of estimates to potential customers.
Project Management :
Conduct regular in-depth review of projects from start to finish to ensure complete and total comprehension of project.
Working with Division Lead to determine Foreman.
Facilitate buyout for project.
Complete all perennate paperwork as required by the Executive Team.
Forward pertinent project startup information to Admin, including submittals, information for job contacts list and job subs and supplier list.
Work with Accounting Team establishing and creating Schedule of Values and Administrative Team to be driving force in billing process.
Manage the team of field personnel.
Accurately and efficiently track job costs and produce a budget for each project.
Attend all project meetings.
Facilitate the request for material, lifts, tools, and / or equipment with as much advance notice as possible.
Write RFI’s and Change Orders when needed.
Oversees completion of as-builts, punch lists, test reports, and other job specific closeout documents.
Perform proper reporting for all projects.
Provide input for WIP for project costs.
Projects must meet financial, safety, schedule, and quality goal.
Qualifications and Requirements :
10 years of construction estimation and project management; utilities and infrastructure experience are required.
Efficiency : able to produce significant output with minimal wasted effort and time.
Organization and planning : plan, organize, and schedules in an efficient, productive manner. Focuses on key priorities.
Proactive aggressiveness : moves quickly and takes a forceful stand. Take initiative to discover new methods of being productive.
Detail-oriented : takes details seriously and finds delight in their work. Does not let important details slip through the cracks.
Driven and self-motivated : does not need to be pushed to get things done. Possess the stamina to perform outstanding work and work hard consistently.
