What are the responsibilities and job description for the Residential Treatment Technician position at Inside Out Wellness and Advocacy?
Overview:
The Residential Treatment Technician will serve as a member of a multidisciplinary team for individuals served at the residential level of care. They will assist with day to day needs of persons served in the residential treatment setting and assisting in ensuring that the individual’s basic needs are met. They will assist in providing structure in the individual’s treatment program.
Essential Responsibilities:
Guide individuals in the development of skills and strategies for addressing substance use issues.
1. Ensure all basic needs of individuals served are met. This includes, but is not limited to, medication adherence, ensuring individuals are provided nutritional meals, encouraging healthy sleep patterns, and maintaining safety of all participants in the program.
2. Maintain schedules of individuals served. This may include providing transportation to outside appointments, assisting with set up of telehealth services, etc.
3. Maintain confidentiality of records relating to individual’s treatment
4. Maintain billing information; submit billing information to the business office in a timely manner
5. Prepare and maintain all required treatment records and reports.
6. Act as a liaison with other organizations for the coordination of care of the individual
7. Ensure all standards by governing agencies and referral sources are met.
8. Attend all required training and meetings.
9. Assists with employee training on addictions as requested or assigned
10. Interfaces with the community to help promote Inside Out Wellness and Advocacy’s mission and values
11. Provides on-call services, when necessary
12. Updates job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities; reading professional publications; maintaining personal networks; participating in professional organizations
13. Treat all people with respect and dignity; act as an advocate as needed.
14. Work with all co-workers, staff, and outside agencies in a cooperative and professional manner.
15. Follow all Inside Out Wellness and Advocacy’s Policies and Procedures
16. Communicate with other departmental staff (residential, work services, employment services, etc.) as necessary to ensure coordination of quality service provision for clients.
17. Be awake and on duty throughout the duration of their shifts.
18. Other duties as assigned
Requirements:
Ability to sit for extended periods of time, use of computer and telephone systems which includes coordinator of eye and hand and fine manipulation by the hands (typing, writing, working with files). Requires talking, seeing, hearing, and reading; expressing or exchanging ideas by means of the spoken word, received, and communicated detailed information through oral communication, clarity of vision at 20 inches or less and at distance, must be able to read and understand text. Occasional lifting of up to 20 pounds.
Must have the ability to understand and follow oral instruction, to understand and follow written instruction, to guide and/or give instruction, and to make decisions in accordance with established procedures and policies. Requires the ability to collect and analyze complex numerical and written data and verbal information to reach logical conclusions.
· High School Diploma or GED
· Medication Management Certification (or willingness to obtain one within 90 days of hire).
· CPR Certification (or willingness to obtain one within 90 days of hire).
· Valid Driver’s License
· Experience with MS Office
· Lived experience welcome but not required
