Job Summary
The University of North Georgia is currently accepting applications for a Battalion Chaplain - Institutional Student Worker on the Dahlonega campus. The Battalion Chaplain for the UNG Corps of Cadets serves as a member of the Battalion Staff informing the Battalion Commander of issues effecting Cadets. The 1st Battalion Chaplain regularly meets with the Company Chaplain, disseminates information, and provides religious activities in the barracks.
Responsibilities
- Communicate opportunities to the company levels.
- Inform the Brigade Chaplain on personal, morale, spiritual, and religious issues that may be affecting individual Cadets or having an impact at the Company, Battalion, or Brigade level or the entire Corps of Cadets.
- Communicate regularly with the Company Chaplains regarding the personal, morale, spiritual and religious issues that may be effecting individual cadets.
- Participate in the planning of religious support activities.
- Disseminate information regarding religious support activities offered by ACC and in the community.
- Provide religious support activities in the barracks.
- Assist in the training of Company Chaplains and Company Chaplains Assistants.
- Serve on the Chaplain Board in the spring semester.
- Refer Cadets for any support services that may be appropriate.
- Responsible for counseling the 1st Battalion Company Chaplains at least once a semester.
- They must meet the suspense dates for the initial counseling set by the Brigade Chaplain, as all members of the ACC will be counseled at least once a semester.
- If a subordinate fails to meet the standard outlined in their counseling they may be subject to additional negative counseling, training probation, corrective actions, corrective training, and removal from their position or the ACC.
