Responsibilities and Duties
The Director of Co-Curricular Programs and Constituent Relationships is expected to : create, implement, and assess co-curricular activities and events that reflect Honors College emphases on interdisciplinarity, global awareness, diversity, community engagement, and student-faculty interaction; develop, implement, and assess leadership opportunities for Honors College students, working particularly with student directors, orientation leaders, and Honors organization leaders; coordinate and organize special events including orientations, Celebration of Scholarship and Learning, open houses, and convocation; develop and implement effective strategies for communication within the Honors College for co-curricular programs, as well as other Honors activities and events, working in association with other Honors College staff and faculty; work with the Honors administrative team to strengthen alumni relations and parent relations and develop and promote external support for the College; work with the Honors administrative team to evaluate, strengthen, and promote Honors College programs and processes and to maintain good working relationships across campus; overlaps with other responsibilities. Some evenings and weekend days required during the Fall and Spring semesters.
Qualifications and Skills
Required : Bachelor's degree
Two years of experience.
A warm interest in college students and in student development.
Intellectual curiosity combined with the ability and interest needed to create and implement a program of co-curricular activities and events for Honors students.
Strong organizational and writing skills.
The ability to use a variety of media to communicate effectively with diverse groups within and beyond the university.
Preferred :
Experience with event planning, student affairs and / or an honors program or honors college is highly desirable.
Some knowledge or experience with social media, alumni work, and / or fundraising desirable.
Graduate study and Masters’ degree preferred.
