Under the supervision of the Dean of Applied Technology & Trades, you will teach a variety of credit and contract training courses in the Field Service Technician program. The courses you teach will be primarily face to face, with the potential of some being online and hybrid. You will focus on continuous improvement of your courses so that they are relevant and engaging, enhancing the ever-important student experience.
You will have the opportunity to establish and build relationships with employers, students, the three native nations in our district and your colleagues. Your responsibilities are at the Rhinelander campus and other outreach locations with variable hours that may include day, evening and / or weekend assignments. You will work a year-round schedule. You will participate in college committees which support the College and program goals and initiatives
Primary Duties and Responsibilities

Instruction
Develop, maintain, and deliver instruction in accordance with the mission, vision, and philosophy of Nicolet College in the Field Service Technician program.
Curriculum development and revision to keep content relevant and students engaged.
Maintain courses in WIDS (Worldwide Instructional Design System) and Nicolet College's LMS (Learning Management System).
Participation in Nicolet College's program review process.
Support students in every aspect of their coursework. Provide regular and substantive interaction with students.
Develop and maintain professional working relationships with students to maximize their motivation and engagement in courses.
Support students with advice relative to their pursuit of employment after successful completion of their program.
Instruction-Related Support
Continually assess the courses offered for relevance to the fields. Propose and make changes as appropriate.
Participate in program marketing and recruitment to drive student enrollment.
Identify students who may qualify for Credit for Prior Learning and Experience (CPL) and administer CPL challenge exams.
Prepare for and participate in Advisory Committee meetings.
Professional Development and Service to the College
Establish and maintain relationships with employers and other community members.
Partner with others including Wisconsin Technical College System partners and professional groups related to the teaching fields.
Work collaboratively to develop relationships with high school leaders leading to dual credit articulations for high school students.
Meet and maintain Faculty Quality Assurance Standards.
Maintain professional affiliations and certifications.
Participate in department, program, and college level activities, projects, and committees.
Qualifications
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities :
Highly skilled in the field of Field Service Technician.
Ability to inspire and effectively teach students of varied ages, learning styles, academic levels, and diverse backgrounds.
Ability to foster and maintain positive working relationships across the College and in the district.
Professional and effective verbal and written communication skills.
Ability to use Microsoft Office applications.
Ability to communicate through email.
Ability to build relationships with district employees and community stakeholders.
Ability and motivation to work both independently and collaboratively.
Required Qualifications :
Two-year Technical Diploma, associate degree, or relevant degree in :
o Diesel Equipment Technology
o Diesel Equipment Technician
o Heavy Equipment Technology
o Fluid Power
o Degree related to the field service profession
o Minimum of two years (4,000 hours) of work in field service with one year of experience in the last five years.
Preferred Qualifications :
Bachelor's Degree in Hydraulic Engineering or another engineering-related field.
Teaching experience in post-secondary settings.
Experience with alternative delivery methods including online education
Class A (CDL) Commercial Driver's License
Physical Demands :

The employee must have the ability to climb stairs and ladders.
The employee must have fine motor skills : pick up and grasp small objects, pinch / squeeze or work with fingers, twist / turn objects using hands or wrists.
The employee must maintain physical endurance.
The employee must maintain mobility : ability to squat, stand, walk and climb stairs.
Specific hearing abilities required by this job include hear normal speaking-level sounds.
Specific vision abilities required by this job include see objects up to 20 inches away, see objects up to 20 feet away, use depth perception, and use peripheral vision.
The employee must adapt to changing environment / stress, focus attention on task, cope with strong emotions, and respond to the unexpected.
The employee must demonstrate strong attention to detail and must be able to problem solve and perform complex tasks without error.
The employee must be able to read and understand documents / displays and type / write.
This position requires regular and punctual employee presence.
