Organization
The Inventory System Manager at the University of Oklahoma supervises the maintenance of an inventory system for University-owned assets, except real estate. This position is also responsible for receiving, storing, and disposing of excess assets.
Daily tasks may include :
Initiates periodic physical inventory of University-owned assets to verify accuracy of records.
Ensures new University owned assets received are properly tagged and entered into the inventory system.
Evaluates and determines most appropriate method for disposal of excess equipment and furniture.
Assists in scheduling pick-up of surplus items form departments and colleges.
Supervises the day-to-day operation of equipment inventory.
Performs related duties as assigned to successfully fulfill the functions of the position.
Job Location
Required Education : Bachelor's degree, AND :
12 months experience in material management which includes supervisor skills.
Equivalency / Substitution : Will accept 48 months of related experience in lieu of the Bachelor's degree for a total of 60 months of experience.
Skills :
- Ability to build and manipulate spreadsheets.
- Ability to communicate verbally and in writing.
- Ability to read and understand written materials and instructions.
- Must be detail oriented for accuracy of data and information.
- Ability to complete projects in a timely manner.
Certifications : Valid Oklahoma Driver's License in order to drive University vehicles or ability to obtain within 30 days of employment. Forklift certification to move warehouse items.
Advertised Physical Requirements : Physical : Occasional standing, walking, pulling and lifting equipment. Ability to see to determine the condition of items. Communicate effectively and listen. Environmental : Work in a warehouse environment. Exposure to dust and dirt.
Supervision : Yes, 1-5 staff
