Job Title : Laboratory Services Technician

Department : Student Life | Student Health Services

The Lab Services Technician works with a multi-disciplinary team of physicians and other health care professionals to provide laboratory services, primarily to students of The Ohio State University. Greets and identifies patients upon arrival, files and enters outside orders, responds to telephone inquiries; performs phlebotomy procedures; prepares and maintains phlebotomy rooms, precepts phlebotomy students and performs / reports waived laboratory testing.

This is a temporary position for a fixed term length till November 2026.

Qualified candidates may be asked to complete a pre-employment physical including a drug screen and background check.

Qualifications

Required : High School graduate or an equivalent combination of education and experience; Phlebotomy training, certification and experience; ability to obtain BLS-HCW certification prior to hire.

Desired : Medical Assistant certification or equivalent education; experience in an ambulatory medical facility; familiarity with medical terminology and electronic health information (EHR) system.

Additional Information :

Targeted hiring range is $15.00 to $19.71 / hr. The offer for this position will fall within this range based on internal equity, the unit’s available budget, and the selected candidate’s qualifications.
