About Oakton College :
Oakton College is seeking a dedicated, innovative special education instructor for a skills course in the hospitality industry. Assist in developing a hands-on curriculum, including life skills and introductory industry skills. Your ultimate goal will be to provide guidance and inspiration to help young adults transition to the workplace.
Job Description :
Essential Functions of the Position :
- Development of curriculum that is hands-on (as appropriate), in collaboration with Continuing Education leaders
- Preparation of instructional materials (as appropriate)
- Delivery of instruction, including being prepared for and meeting courses and laboratories (if appropriate) at scheduled times
- Assess and reflect on student progress
- Classroom management
- Collaboration with Oakton staff and our partners
- Compliance with departmental and institutional policies and procedures including but not limited to submission of final grades

Salary is $25 / hour and the term of employment is 4 / 16 / 25 through 5 / 9 / 25.

An "out-of-state employee" is defined as an employee of Oakton College whose primary work location is outside of the state of Illinois. State taxes, employment tax, and worker's compensation provisions vary from state to state and require payroll compliance with these various rules.
Allowable States for Out-of-State Employment
All employees must maintain their primary residence in Illinois, Indiana, or a reciprocal state with Illinois. Reciprocal states include Iowa, Kentucky, Michigan, and Wisconsin. Illinois has tax agreements with these reciprocal states. Employees may have their primary residence in Indiana since Indiana is adjacent to Illinois.
