Job Description :
Under direct supervision, performs any combination of rudimentary or unskilled tasks which typically require no previous knowledge, skills or experience or provides elementary support or assistance for unique projects or programs. Use of this job class may include but is not limited to assignments such as routine telephone or customer surveys, models, tutors, ticket takers, clerical assistants, delivery, or manual labor. USE OF THIS JOB CLASS IS RESTRICTED TO TEMPORARY OR INTERMITTENT CONTRACTUAL WORK AS DEFINED BY THE INSTITUTION, WHICH CAN NOT BE ACCOMMODATED IN AN EXISTING JOB CLASS.
Responsibilities :
- Will perform clerical duties related to recruiting students and scheduling visits to community colleges.
- Participate in recruiting activities on campus by reaching out to chairs of different programs
- Helping with the production of marketing materials for the program
- Ensuring that students are registered in the OPM portal
- Help students with searches for jobs using the OPM resources.
- Accompany students to SFS job fairs in DC
- Scheduling advising sessions for the students and organizing community-building activities for the students.
- Organize the orientation for incoming SFS scholars.
- Schedule interviews for the applicants for the program.
- Work with the Office of Sponsored Programs and Research to ensure the scholars are paid on time.
- Produce pay vouchers
- Follow up on related contracts.
- Prepare summer contracts for faculty.
- Organize conference travel for students.
- Enter Purchase orders in PeopleSoft for purchases of project equipment.
- Maintain applicants’ records and contacts database, assist with program compliance, and provide students with a single point of contact.
- Other duties as assigned by the Chair of the department.
