Job Description Summary / TWC Summary :
Under general supervision performs routine patrols of campus for the purpose of parking enforcement rules, regulations and law. Provides parking and security services as directed by the Shift Sergeant. Monitors surveillance cameras and stands “fixed post” position to control access in specific points of entry onto the campus.
Essential Duties Summary :
- Patrols assigned area, detects and reports suspicious or unauthorized persons, directs, or re-routes traffic around disruptions, issues warnings and tickets to traffic and parking violators, and communicates towed vehicle information.
- Enforces parking rules and regulations around the campus, special event set-up and break downs, traffic control in campus parking lots and garages, assist with traffic control during campus events and special events, and issuing parking permits.
- Attends shift “roll call”, provides daily briefing sessions regarding criminal activity, special assignments, and events.
- Prepares, reviews, and distributes various reports on incidents and other parking or security related issues.
- Provides general service, courtesy escorts, information and assistance to faculty, staff, students, and visitors on campus.
- Assists the Dispatcher’s section by receiving incoming calls for assistance and dispatching personnel to scene of emergency.
- Monitors cameras and conducts electronic patrols of the campus by means of the department’s video surveillance cameras.
- Serves as a departmental representative or liaison to internal and external groups.
- Performs other job-related duties as assigned.
FTE : Hiring Range :
16.74 - $21.34
Education :
High school diploma or general equivalency education.
Required Licensing / Certification :
Must be able to operate a motor vehicle and possess a valid drivers’ license.
