SUMMARY
Sells individual, group and / or season ticket for entertainment events performed at the Potter Center at Jackson College.
Essential Functions
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
- Provide information regarding theatre events to customers.
- Provide quotes for individual, group and season ticket sales.
- Process ticket sales on computerized box office system.
- Obtain payment (cash, check or credit) and reconcile daily financial transactions.
- Assist with maintaining promotional display.
- Enter new customer data and other sales data for current customers into computer. Maintain season subscriber database.
- Along with the ticket office manager, investigate and resolve customer problems.
- Assists breaks and lunches for college switchboard operator.
- Assist with vacations and peak times on college switchboard.
- Responsible for understanding, supporting and actively demonstrating the College’s beliefs, values, mission and vision and being in agreement to be evaluated by same.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES
This position has no supervisory responsibility.
CONTACTS AND PURPOSE OF CONTACTS :
Internal : Regular contact with Box Office Manager, Operations Coordinator, House Manager and Chief Operating Officer to gather and / or share information.
External : Frequent contact with customers in relation to ordering tickets, Choice Ticketing, and local theatre companies and external renters of the theatres.

Education / ExperienceOne year certificate from college or technical school; or three to six months related experience and / or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos. Ability to write simple correspondence, and memos. Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization.
Mathematical Skills
Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.
Reasoning Ability
Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
