Summary:
Insight Global is seeking a highly motivated candidate with a Bachelor's degree in Accounting to join our client’s State and Local Tax Audit Team as an entry-level Auditor. This role is part of the government Audit Services group and offers a dynamic learning experience. Initially, the successful candidate will be paired with a senior Auditor for hands-on training in both field and office settings, with training lasting approximately 4-6 months. The primary responsibility involves conducting field audits for businesses with annual sales under $70,000 or tax on purchases under $12,000, ensuring compliance with Kansas tax statutes and regulations. Audits will cover a range of industries and record-keeping systems, with occasional travel required within the Kansas City area.
Additional Responsibilities Include:
- Conducting thorough analyses of audit assignments
- Scheduling audits and coordinating with taxpayers
- Traveling to taxpayer locations throughout Kansas
- Reviewing and analyzing taxpayer records to ensure compliance
- Performing research on tax-related issues and determining taxability
- Applying generally accepted sampling techniques in audits
- Documenting audit procedures and conclusions
- Preparing comprehensive written reports that detail noncompliance findings, relevant statutes, and applicable case law
