Building Engineer

Insight Global is seeking a Building Engineer to join the team of one of their clients! The ideal candidate will have a background in Data centers, HVAC, energy efficiency, assisting mechanical engineering designs for repairs, upgrades, and recommissioning of existing facilities, independently or as a member of a team, including good communication skills and the ability to work with a group of experienced professionals. The candidate will be responsible for working with contractors on repairs, upgrades, and recommissioning of existing facilities, independently or as a member of a team. The successful candidate should have a minimum of 5 years' experience with knowledge in mechanical HVAC, controls, piping, and plumbing. This role will work in a building that houses a large 26,000 square feet data center. The building is over 300,000 square feet and houses, multiple tenants.

Must Haves:

• 5 years of experience in a commercial setting
• Experience in maintenance and repair of HVAC, boilers, heaters, pumps, refrigerant systems, compressors, water systems, etc.
• They don’t necessarily need to have experience repairing these
• They are expected to know how to diagnose an issue – What is causing the problem and what needs to be done to fix it.

Ideal Candidate:

• Data Center experience
• Steve is retiring – he is a licensed plumber. Strong with plumbing, pumps, etc.

Nice to haves:

• Plumbing certification
• Data Center experience

Day-to-Day:

• Working on-site at their client Anthem’s data center
• This is their primary data center and the only production center - 50,000 sq. ft.
• Also supporting two buildings – each is 250,000 sq. ft.
• Conducting Building Checks to make sure there are no issues with the equipment
• Check Lists for crawl unites, boilers, chillers, etc.
• If there is a problem that comes up – They will be diagnosing the problem and determining next steps for repairs
• 4 – 800 ton cylindrical chillers & 1 – 400 ton cylindrical chiller

• Do you have your HVAC or Plumbing certification? (nice-to-have)
• This position is Switch shift – Alternating between Mon-Fri 7am-3:30pm and Tues-Sat 7am-3:30pm. Are you willing to work this schedule?
