Overview : A client of Insight Global is seeking a Chief Estimator to lead the Estimating and Preconstruction team for electrical construction projects. This role involves managing budgets, staffing, and performance reviews, ensuring adherence to department standards, and approving estimate packages. The Chief Estimator will play a key role in pricing strategy and project selection.
Day-to-Day Responsibilities :
- Oversee the Estimating and Preconstruction team, managing budgets, staffing, and performance reviews.
- Ensure adherence to department standards and approve estimate packages.
- Lead pricing strategy on project selection.
- Maintain client relationships and prepare estimates.
- Update bid logs and improve cost data.
- Lead project teams, review proposals, identify risks, and innovate through continuous improvement and education.
- Develop prime costs for high-value targets and provide strategies to win large bids.
- Handle business development and conceptual estimation.
- Manage staff, lead pre-bid meetings, and ensure compliance with company policies and ethical standards.
- Work closely with executives, given the high visibility of this role.
